Budapest April 2018

On 23-27 April 2018, a meeting of 20 teachers from 6 European countries took place in Budapest as a part of the ERASMUS K219 project entitled Social Entrepreneurship among European Schools. The host school was BGSZC Hight School Budapest. It is a modern school almost in the city center. It is a higher-level vocational school focusing on the economy that educates students over the age of 18. The main coordinator of the project is the Spanish school. The presented were, of course, the Hungarian team, there were teachers from Romania, Italy, Austria and from the Czech Republic there were 2 representatives from our school. In the prepared workshops, teachers exchanged experience with teaching of economic subjects, incorporating ICT into teaching, and its interconnectedness with practice. Everything was accompanied by illustrative presentations. We were shown expert classrooms. BGSZC students also joined the project. They were interested, for example, in the educational systems of the individual countries, and conducted an interview with individual teachers. The meeting took place in a very pleasant and stimulating atmosphere, underlined by the beauties of the beautiful city on the Danube. We believe that our students who will be attending this school will have similar experiences at the end of October.

Meeting C1 in Torremolinos – view of students from the Czech Republic

From 21. 1. 2018 to 26. 1. 2018 we spend time with our teachers (Monika Kubiszova and Zdenek Matus) in Spain in the city named Torremolinos thanks of activities C1 – program Erasmus+. Some of us lived in Spanish families, others in a hotel but all of had the chance to communicate in foreign language with students and teachers from Spain, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria and Italy. The whole week we were getting to know Spanish culture and taking part in workshops about social entrepreneurship. During the workshops we were working in groups and we had to talk in English. Besides Torremolinos we also visited Granada and Malága.

On the first day we were mostly at school working in different workshops (we learned for example the method CANVAS, coaching, the creating websites) There we discussed how to run business work together.

On Tuesday we went on trip to Granada, where we visited La Alhambra (medieval complex of places belonging to Arabic sovereigns), Parque de las Ciencias (interactive museum of science and technique), The centre of  Granada and Mirador de San Nicolás with the beautiful view on the city.

On Wednesday we had another workshop named Financial education for entrepreneurs. The workshop was held in the financial centre of Malága and it was a presentation about finances in everyday life. We had participate actively because we voted in different cases to choose the right way how to solve financial problems.  After the presentation ended we went to company Ingenia. That company has already 25 years. They told us how the company had grown up. After that we saw one of the greatest exhibitions in the museum Pompidú.

On Thursday morning we were at school again (workshops Podcast Radio and how to use E-twinning), then we had a class of golf, where we had a chance to try a traditional Spanish dish Paella.

Our last evening was very exciting because we had the opportunity to watch a basketball match between Spanish teams Unicaja and Baskonia. During our trip we gained a lot of experiences and it also gave us the opportunity to talk with people from other countries.

Preparing a logo and slogan for the project – Czech team

In December 2017 the students started to work on the first task for the project and it was to create a logo and slogan for the project.

First they worked on different tasks to understand the goals and the importance of logos and slogans for marketing campaigns.

Then they prepared the SWOT analyses of analyses so that they could recognise the main objectives of the project.

Meanwhile they worked in three teams using brainwriting and brainstorming methods to get as many ideas as possible. In their teams they chose the logo and slogan and prepared the presentation for other teams and the teachers.

In the end the students going to Spain were chosen according to given criteria e.g. work on the tast, language level, involvement

Input of the lecture Financial education for young people at the Mendel’s secondary school in Nový Jičín

The teachers and students of our school took part in the lecture “Financial education for young people” during the Erasmus+ project mobility, which was a part of the European project Social entrepreneurship in Spanish Torremolinos. The lecture was prepared by the company Edufinet and the participants were also given interesting study materials for the students of their home schools. The business teacher, Mrs Budínská, decided to use them and prepared the workshop for her s tudents on the topic financial education.

The students got five tasks (questions 1 ,2,3,4,5) and  worked in groups of four. First they discussed the vocabulary needed to fulfil the tasks, then they tried to solve the tasks according to their knowledge which they had gained in the business lessons so far. Finally they talked about the chosen answers and supported their opinions in front of the class. They could change their answers, if they were persuaded with the facts and arguments of other students. The supported slides were used to discuss about the questions. As following chart shows our students have quite good knowledge about the topic.

The students enjoyed the workshop because all the tasks were from every-day life and the pupils considered them to be useful for their future life.
